A note from Pastor Nathan

May 17, 2012

Good Evening!

Recall Notice!-

The Maker of all human beings (GOD) is recalling all units manufactured, regardless of make or year, due to a serious defect in the primary and central component of the heart.

This is due to a malfunction in the original prototype unit’s code named Adam and Eve, resulting in the reproduction of the same defect in all subsequent units. This defect has been technically termed “Sub-sequential Internal Non-morality,” or more commonly known as S.I.N., as it is primarily expressed.

Some of the symptoms include:

1. Loss of direction

2. Foul vocal emissions

3. Amnesia of origin

4. Lack of peace and joy

5. Selfish or violent behavior

6. Depression or confusion in the mental component

7. Fearfulness

8. Idolatry

9. Rebellion

The Manufacturer, who is neither liable nor at fault for this defect, is providing factory-authorized repair and service free of charge to correct this defect.

The Repair Technician, JESUS, has most generously offered to bear the entire burden of the staggering cost of these repairs. There is no additional fee required.

The number to call for repair in all areas is: P-R-A-Y-E-R!

Once connected, please upload your burden of SIN through the REPENTANCE procedure. Next, download ATONEMENT from the Repair Technician, Jesus, into the heart component.

No matter how big or small the SIN defect is, Jesus will replace it with:

1. Love

2. Joy

3. Peace

4. Patience

5. Kindness

6. Goodness

7. Faithfulness

8. Gentleness

9. Self-control

Please see the operating manual, the B.I.B.L.E. (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth) for further details on the use of these fixes.

WARNING:

Continuing to operate the human being unit without correction voids any manufacturer warranties, exposing the unit to dangers and problems too numerous to list and will result in the human unit being permanently impounded. For free emergency service, call on Jesus.

DANGER: The human being units not responding to this recall action will have to be scrapped in the furnace. The SIN defect will not be permitted to enter Heaven so as to prevent contamination of that facility. Thank you for your attention!

- GOD –

P.S. - Please assist where possible by notifying others of this important recall notice, and you may contact the Father any time by “Knee mail”!

PRAYER REQUESTS!:

· BETH STEVENSON – Had to be admitted back into the Hospital due to some complications with the ileostomy. This has been and continues to be quite a struggle for Beth, Gil, and the family. Please be holding them up in prayer, and that the doctors will be able to come up with a solution that will bring an end to her suffering from this terrible affliction. Pray for Grace and strength to endure this ordeal.

· CONNIE WILLIAMS – Is back in the hospital again due to some complications with her leg (her “good” one). Someone bumped into her with a power-chair a week ago, and it has caused an infection, and even “Thrush” to show up in her lower leg and foot. They are trying to determine if they will need to amputate this leg or not. Please be remembering Connie as she struggles with depression, etc., as she deals with this disappointment in her life.

· ROSEMARY MEILLE – Had to undergo surgery again yesterday on her nose. She has been having trouble with severe nose-bleeds that won’t quit, and needed to have this surgery to hopefully stop this from happening. Please pray for Rosemary and Raymond as they cope with this new wrinkle in their lives.

· LAVONNE COX – She is now out of the hospital, and has moved over to Providence Place for more rehab. Please help lift this dear woman before the Lord for a special touch on her body. Pray that she gains enough strength to be able to take care of herself and on her own. She really appreciates all our prayers for her.

· KATHI RANDALL (new lady attending the church) – Has asked for special prayer for her in her job. Things are really tough for her, and she needs wisdom and discernment in knowing what to do next. I assured her we would be praying for her.

· EMMA SPRUNG’S Daughter – Has been put into I.C.U. at K.U Hospital with complications with her carotid arteries, and heart condition. This has deeply troubles Emma and the family, and we need to surround them with our love and prayers.

ON THE “LITE” SIDE!:

· The famous Olympic skier, Picabo Street (pronounced Pee-Ka-Boo) is not just an athlete. She is now a nurse currently working at an Intensive Care Unit of a large metropolitan hospital. She is not permitted to answer the hospital telephones any longer. It caused too much confusion when she would answer the phone and say,

“Picabo, I.C.U.”

· A soldier was stationed abroad and received a “Dear John” letter from his girlfriend back home. It read: “Dear Dave, I can no longer continue our relationship. The distance between us is just too great. I must admit that I have cheated twice, since you’ve been gone, and it’s not fair to either of us. I’m sorry. Please return the picture of me that I sent you. Love, Kim.”

The soldier, with hurt feelings, asked his fellow soldiers for any snapshots they could spare of their girlfriends, sisters, ex-girlfriends, aunts, cousins, etc.. In addition to the picture of Kim, Dave included all the other pictures of pretty girls he had collected from his buddies. There were 43 photos in the envelope along with a note that read: “Dear Kim, I’m sorry but I can’t remember who you are. Please take your picture from the pile, and send the rest back to me. Take care, Dave.”

· As a mother was walking with her 4-year-old daughter, the girl picked up something off the ground and started to put it in her mouth, and Mom told her not to do that.

“Why?” she asked.

“Because, it’s been lying outside and is dirty and probably has germs.”

At this point, she looked at her mother with total admiration and asked, “How do you know all this stuff?”

Thinking quickly, she replied, “It’s on the mommy test. You have to know it, or they don’t let you be a mommy.”

“Oh.” She said seemingly satisfied. They walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but the daughter was evidently pondering this new information.

“I get it!” she beamed. “Then if you flunk the test, you have to be the daddy!”

· A lady makes an urgent call to the rural fire department. She says, “Come quickly! My barn’s on fire, my barns on fire!!”

The dispatcher says, “Calm down, ma’am. Can you tell us how to get there?”

She replied, “Oh, my – don’t you have that big red truck anymore, like you used to?”

· A friend was in front of me coming out of church one day, and the preacher was standing at the door as he always is to shake hands. He grabbed my friend by the hand and pulled him aside.

The pastor said to him, “You need to join the Army of the Lord!”

My friend replied, “I’m already in the Army of the Lord, Pastor!”

Pastor questioned, “How come I don’t see you except at Christmas and Easter?”

He whispered back, “I’m in the secret service.”

SCRIPTURE & THOUGHT:

Proverbs 24: 16 (NIV) – “For though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again…”

Many of inventor Thomas Edison’s quotes have found their way into print and into motivational speeches delivered by speakers around the world. Here are two of his better ones:

- “Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”

- “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work!”

The number “7” in Scripture indicates something is “perfect” or “complete.” Falling seven times sounds like failure to me. But rising seven times sounds sweet! It reminds me that no matter how many times I have fallen (or will fall in the future), God will never give up on me. Never! His grace is always sufficient to lift me to my feet and get me going again.

Someone once said, “Falling down doesn’t make you a failure, but failing to get up does.” Thomas Edison was a man who saw thousands of his experiments fail, but he continued revising them. He knew that it was better to get up than to give up. He was committed to excellence. In his search for a filament for incandescent light bulbs, he experimented with hundreds of fibers and metals. In 1879 he discovered a method of making an inexpensive filament that would handle the stress of electric current. Today we would call his discovery “carbonized cotton fiber.” Thread! But the filament was so fragile that it easily broke in an open-air environment. Almost by accident, he tried inserting the filament within an oxygen-free tube. To his surprise, the filament glowed! It didn’t burn long, but it burned. Eventually he and his helpers discovered that the secret was in creating a vacuum within the glass bulb, and using a tungsten filament.

In the life of the Christian, we face many trips, tumbles, errors, and failures. The “voice” that visits us in those moments is not the voice of the Father, but of the adversary. He doesn’t say, “Nice try.” He shouts, “Failure!” He asserts, “You can’t live this Christian life.” Or, “You were better off before you started on this ill-fated journey.” Or, “Stay down. You won’t be missed.” Or, “You deserve better than this.” Or, “Where is God when you need Him?”

It’s the Other Voice that you want to hear. That Voice says, “Let me help you with that.” “I have been there before, and I know you can make it.” “My strength is sufficient for you.” “I will never leave you or forsake you.” “Together we can become strong.” Or, “Take my hand.”

God wants to honor us for our achievements, not punish us for our falls. He is committed to be our companion, our counselor, our advisor, our helper, our friend. It doesn’t get any better that that!

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, sometimes I feel that it would be easier to accept failure than to continue pushing for success. Then I see the Cross, and I realize again the price that you paid to make me your child. Help me stay the course. Let me see the crowd of witnesses that line my pathway, encouraging me. Most of all let me see Jesus! Let me see his eyes. Let me feel his hands reaching out to steady me. Help me to understand he wants to stand beside me, live within me, lift and boost me as I obey his word. In his strong name I pray. Amen.

******************************************************************************

I have a special challenge for us…..Do you remember our “God-First” campaign a little over a year ago? We talked about how God owns everything, we are just the managers. That what He expects out of us is obedience to His word.

Well, lately, our offerings are WAY down! Some who used to tithe, are not tithing now. Others who used to give very regularly, are not now. Like the Scripture says, Malachi 3:8 – “Will a person rob God? Yet you have robbed me! But you say, ‘In what ways have we robbed you?’ In tithes and offerings.”

We really need to do a better job in our giving to God and His church if we want to continue in His blessing. You’re not one of those who are guilty of robbing God, are you?

Are you inviting someone to come with you to church this week? Let’s continue to be inviting others to join us in what God is doing among us.

I look forward to seeing each of you in church this Sunday!

The Peace of Christ,

Pastor Nathan
